Each year sees a full agenda of events being organised during the festive season. Diverse in nature, and aimed at adults, kids or both, they add to the festive cheer of Christmas and bring together the community within the town and its surroundings, as well as drawing in visitors from outside. Here is a summary of the main Christmas events in Estepona this year:
Though the decorative Christmas lights in Estepona have already been officially lit at the Plaza Antonia Guerrero, for many the season truly starts with the Kempinski Lavish Christmas Tree Lighting and Christmas Market at the Black Rose Bar within the lush Kempinski Hotel Bahía. It takes place on Saturday 30th November from 12:00 to 20:00hrs and showcases over €11 million of real diamonds!
The Adana Christmas Fair takes place the following day at the town’s Palacio de Congresos, and it runs from 10:30 till 16:00hrs, offering a wide range of gifts, and fun for grown-ups, children and even pets, with lots of food and live music.
A typically Spanish touch is added by the Hermandad Virgén del Carmen at 18:00hrs on the 5th December, when a Christmas sweets contest and the opening of the Christmas Nativity will be held at their facilities in Calle San Roque.
Adana, one of the leading animal charity organisations in the area, will be hosting the annual Adana Christmas Dinner at Duquesa Golf on the 6th December from 19:00 onwards. Tickets are €35 per person for a three-course meal and live dinner and dance.
Don’t miss the Agrojardin Garden Centre Christmas Market on the 5th (19:00hrs till midnight), and live jam session on the 6th, with children’s workshops and face painting on the 7th December.
Seasonal cheer comes to the Auditorio Felipe VI on the 13th December in the form of the musical, A Christmas Carol. Tickets can be bought here and the show starts at 19:30hrs. Or visit a special Christmas concert ‘Poetry and Music’ on the 14th. Entry is free.
The 19th sees a performance by the Coral Magnum Mysterio at the Santa María de los Remedios Church at 19:30hrs, followed by an open-air Christmas Choir on the Plaza Antonia Guerrero the next day at 20:30hrs.
Children will want to see Santa at the same square between 19:00hrs and 21:00hrs on the 21st, and grown-ups will enjoy the Nutcracker by the Moscow Ballet on the 28th December from 20:00hrs.

Finally, we’ll be able to ring in the New Year with typical Spanish festive spirit on 31st December at the Plaza del Reloj, complete with live music, traditional bells, fireworks and DJ.
