If the idea of buying a property in a select, private beachside complex on Spain’s Costa del Sol appeals to you, then the remaining 2 and 3 bedroom apartments and penthouses on sale at Guadalmansa Playa might just be for you. A couple of days ago, I met up with Pedro from the developers for a quick guided tour.
5 minutes in the car heading east along the main N-340 coast road from Estepona was all it took for me to find the exit slip road that would take me to the complex, which is actually set back about half a kilometre from the N-340 on the other side of a large empty field.
Pedro was already waiting for me with a broad smile at the gated entrance to the community as I pulled up. I parked and followed him down the footpath bordering the complex round to the neatly laid out central garden and pool area which faces the beach.
Guadalmansa Playa is a small, low-rise complex of just 35 ultra modern properties.
Owners here (which include a couple of international sports stars) enjoy a very privileged position indeed, with nothing but a grass lawn area and a security fence separating the complex, its gardens and pool from the beach.
It also has gorgeous, unbroken views across The Straits to Gibraltar and the Northern Moroccan coastline – which thanks to the approximately ‘U-shaped’ layout of the three blocks means are visible from all the apartments.
As we walked past the sun loungers by the poolside, Pedro explained that owners on the ground floor have permission from the community to build stairway access to and from their terraces to the garden and pool area should they want to, and some have already taken advantage of this.
It’s also possible to enclose the covered terraces with removable glass walls, which again some owners have installed.
I visited 3 different types of property in the complex; a 2-bedroom ground floor apartment, a 3-bedroom first floor and a 3-bedroom duplex penthouse.
Large floor-to-ceiling windows and stainless steel handrails set the style tone in the stairwell areas leading to each, with chic white front doors opening into modern and spacious interiors.
Each property comes with cream marble floors throughout, hot and cold air conditioning.
And with multiple patio doors leading out to generously-sized terraces, there’s plenty of natural light.
Not that light would be a problem with the main living room areas benefiting from subtle halogen lighting.
Each property also boasts pre-installed surround sound system, which makes it possible to listen to music or the TV in the living/dining rooms and the bedrooms.
The bathrooms meanwhile come with heated floors, walk-in showers and jacuzzi baths as standard, whilst the kitchens are all fully-equipped with the latest hi-tech appliances.
Apart from the swimming pool, the on-site facilities include an equipped gym, a sauna and jacuzzi. There’s also underground parking for all and a dedicated storage space for each property.
Another luxurious touch I should mention is the Domotic Home Control System installed in each property, via which amongst many options it’s possible to manage the interior temperature of each individual room, open and close the window blinds – either manually from within the property itself, or remotely via the Internet from wherever you happen to be in the world.
